Sandra Seaton is a self taught photographer and collage artist of Russian-Jewish descent. As artists living behind the iron curtain, her parents moved to London during the collapse of the Soviet Union and expression through creativity was continuously encouraged during childhood. After fulfilling a career in sport, Sandra began her career in photography, assisting photographers such as Claire Rothstein, Sharna Osborne and Michal Pudelka. Sandra’s work specialises in both documentary and fashion photography and centres around youth through the female gaze. Her intimate portraits ooze confidence in her subjects and portray ease in a woman and her body, while adding a sense of rebellion and playfulness. This is also true of her documentary work, which captures the optimism of every day life, adding jest and humour with the use of collage.
