Lily Bertrand-Webb is a photographer whose work moves fluidly between fine art, editorial and commercial, driven by an instinct to freeze fleeting moments of intimacy, connection and light. Shooting on her Mamiya 645 and Pentax film cameras, her images carry a warmth and timelessness that feels both considered and deeply human. Born and bred in West London and now based in West Cornwall, Lily brings a rare duality to her practice; city-sharp and wildly elemental in equal measure. She lost her hearing from a young age and now wears a cochlear implant, teaching herself to lipread along the way. That heightened sensitivity to the visual world runs through everything she makes. The National Portrait Gallery holds one of Lily’s portraits in their permanent collection.
